MAC address of PC

    MAC-address (Media access control) - is a unique identifier assigned to each unit of active equipment or some of their interfaces in computer Ethernet networks. In fact, this is the hardware number of the equipment (computer, server, router, switch port), which is assigned to the device's network card at the factory (at the time of production). It allows you to uniquely identify each node on the network and deliver data only to that node.

You can find the MAC address of your PC as follows:

• open command prompt (CMD)

• in the field C: \ Users \ enter the command ipconfig/all and press Enter.

    The PC's MAC address will be indicated in the Physical address field.

   The SENET system identifies workstations by their MAC addresses. In the technical mode of the club map, you can edit the MAC address of the PC ( the MAC address will not change physically on the computer, but only changes in the workstation parameters on the club map).

    In this case, the system will see the PC with edited MAC address as another device, so it will appear on the club map under the new number and will request authorization.

    It should be noted that there are situations in which the PC's MAC address can change automatically. Here are some reasons:

• installed the Hamachi program (a program for creating a local network, for network gaming) or its equivalent;
• installed VPN;
• the virtual network connection was created using other programs or in the Windows settings (most often such connections are created by virtual machines);
• there was a replacement of the network card/motherboard;
• the PC is connected via the wifi network adapter.

    If the PC was being repaired and the network card/motherboard was replaced or you connected the PC via wifi network adapter, then the new PC will appear on the club map- authorize it. After authorization, you can delete the PC under the old number from the club map and edit it in technical mode by moving it to the desired location and specifying the desired number.

    If you have installed one of the programs that create virtual network connection (VPN, Hamachi, etc.), the PC may also appear as new on the club map. Uninstall/disable VPN or other programs that create such type of connection. In some cases, it will be necessary to delete/disable the network connection that they created.
