📌 The Remote Access feature lets you connect to gaming PCs remotely via venue map.
Requirements for Successful Remote Access
The following conditions must be met for remote access to work:
- The gaming PC is running an administrator or client session.
- The PC is running Windows 10 Pro or higher.
- Both the PC you're connecting to and the PC you're connecting from are on the same subnet.
- On the map, just one computer has been selected for connection.
See this guide↗ for instructions on connecting to a gaming PC.
How to Fix Remote Access Connection Issues
If all the conditions are met, but the connection does not occur, you should perform Windows settings on both PCs, that is, on the gaming PC and the one from which you are connecting.
1. Check if the PCs are on the same subnet. To do so:
- Type cmd in Windows search and press Enter.
- Enter ipconfig /all at the command prompt on both computers and press Enter. Check to see if the first three number strings are identical. If they are the same, it means that the PCs are on the same subnet. The fourth string will be different. For example, if on the 1st PC the IP is 112.118.15.141, and on the 2nd - 112.118.15.157, then they are on the same subnet.
If the PCs are on the same subnet, go to step 2.
2. Check if the firewall is enabled. To do so:
- Select Windows Start menu → Windows Settings → Update & Security → Windows Security → Firewall & Network Protection.
If the firewall is enabled, go to step 3.
- Turn on the firewall if it is turned off and this option is available.
- If this option is not available, run this file on a PC where the firewall is disabled and restart the computer.
- After restarting, check if the firewall is enabled. If everything is ready, go to the next step.
3. Make sure that the remote connection permission is enabled. To do this:
- Open the This PC section, right-click on a space, and select Properties.
- In the window that opens, click Change settings.
- Go to the Remote tab and enable the Allow remote connections to this computer option if it is turned off. Save changes by clicking OK.
If the remote connection permission is enabled, go to step 4.
4. Check your network settings. To do so:
- Go to Windows Start menu → Windows settings → Network and Internet and click the Wi-Fi or Ethernet tab depending on the type of PC connection. Click the Change advanced sharing options button.
- In the window that opens, expand All networks. Turn on Public Folder Sharing and turn off Password Protected Sharing. Save the changes.
- Done! If all points are completed, try to connect to the PC.
