General requirements for client PCs

SENET Boot supports diskless boot on PCs with Windows 10x64 Pro. There is no need to install antivirus programs on client workstations (PCs on which you will distribute images).

Windows 11 is supported, but it has certain limitations, in particular, the automatic driver for the network card does not work. This means that if there is more than one configuration of client PCs on the network, you need to manually "build" the existing configurations and save them to an image.

Hardware requirements for client workstations

• The minimum RAM size on client workstations must be 4 GB.
• If the motherboard has a TPM module, it can interfere with diskless booting, therefore you must disable this module in the BIOS, in the Security tab. This applies to new motherboards mainly.
• The bandwidth of the network card must be 1 Gbps. We do not recommend using 100 Mbps network cards as this will result in a slow diskless boot speed.
• The network card can be external or built-in. It must be with PXE 2.x compatible adapter. Most modern motherboards have a built-in network card that supports PXE 2.x. For example, such models as Gigabyte and ASUS motherboards.
• SENET Boot does not support diskless booting on workstations with wireless network cards (network Wi-Fi adapters) and booting from a USB LAN adapter.
• We recommend using Realtek and Intel 1000M series network cards. However, we do not recommend using NVIDIA and Atheros network cards. They are unstable and have low diskless boot performance.
• No physical disks should be connected to gaming PCs.
• We do not recommend using images created based on other diskless systems. To do this, use the built-in Windows Installation function on Senet Boot.
