How to create promo codes for users?

Promo codes are a great way to attract new customers, boost sales of goods and passes, and increase the loyalty of regular visitors.

Important! Promo codes are available only after purchasing the Bonus Balance add-on.

Promo codes are credited to the bonus balance only and are not refundable.

Types of promo codes

You can create two types of promo codes:

1. Fixed amount promo code. Users can enter a promo code and receive a fixed amount to their bonus balance.

This type of promo code can be used:

• to top up the balance when registering a user account;
• to top up the balance of a registered user.

2. Discount promo code. Users can enter a promo code in the payment window for 1) any order in Shell or 2) a deposit for a PC/console on the booking portal and get a discount on their order.

This type of promo code can be used:

• when paying for passes, goods, and services in Shell. It provides regular customers with a certain % discount on orders.
• when paying a deposit on the booking portal. It provides regular customers with a certain % discount on the deposit for the PC/console booking.

📌 A user can apply the same promo code only once.

How to create a fixed amount promo code?

• Go to Zones and rates → Loyalty program → Promo codes.
• Click Create promo code.
• Fill in the following fields:

• • Type – Fixed amount.
  • Name – the name of the promo code.
  • Can be used in – check the system modules where the promo code can be entered: Shell, Login screen, or both.
  • Bonus – the amount that will be credited to a user's bonus balance after entering the promo code.

• • Quantity – how many times the promo code can be activated. For example, if you input 50, then only 50 visitors will be able to use the promo code during registration, and then it will become unavailable.
  • Active until – the date until which the promo code will be available for use.
  • Available in – if your organization has two or more offices, you can select one or all of the offices where the promo code will be available for activation.
• Save changes. The added promo code can be edited and deleted.

How to create a discount promo code?

• Go to Zones and rates → Loyalty program → Promo codes.
• Click Create promo code.
• Fill in the following fields:
  
  • Type – Discount for orders (amount in %).
  • Name – the name of the promo code.
  • Can be used in – check the system modules where the promo code can be entered: Shell, Booking Portal, or both.
  • Discount percentage – enter the discount amount in %.

• • Quantity – how many times the promo code can be activated. For example, if you input 50, then only 50 visitors will be able to use the promo code during registration, and then it will become unavailable.
  • Active until – the date until which the promo code will be available for use.
  • Available in – if your organization has two or more offices, you can select one or all the offices where the promo code will be applicable.
• Save the changes. The added promo code can be edited and deleted.

 

Reports on promo codes

1. In Statistics → Bonus balance, you can view any operations involving the bonus balance. Here you can find information on the use of promo codes by users. The report contains such fields as:

• login of the user who received the bonus for entering the promo code;
• amount;
• date of the operation;
• operation;
• operation type;
• office.

2. In Zones and rates → Loyalty program → Promo codes, you can find the list with all added promo codes. The list contains such fields as:

• Promo code – name of the promo code;
• Type – a fixed amount or a discount promo code;
• Can be used in – system modules where the promo code can be entered;
• Available in – the name of the office where the promo code can be activated;
• Total – number of available promo codes;
• Used – number of already used promo codes;
• Equivalent – amount of the discount in %;
• Valid until – the date until which the promo code will be active;
• Creator – login of the employee who created the promo code;
• Created –  the date the promo code was created.

3. In Statistics → Reports, you can download the Used promo codes report.

🔎 Users can apply promo codes: 1) on Shell's login screen (for a bonus), 2) in Shell (for a bonus and a discount), or on the booking portal (for a discount).
